Canadian Red Grain Sorghum Hybrid – 28

CGSH-28

Grain yield of 5-6 tons per hectare
Excellent grain quality
Flowering in 50 to 60 days after planting

Canadian White Grain Sorghum Hybrid – 9

CGSH-9

Characteristics

Grain yield range from5-6 t/ha
Flowering in 55 to 60 days after planting
Maturity in 110 to 120 days
Plant height of 130 to 140 cm
Large yellowish white grain
Grain composition 12.6% crude protein, 3.6% Fat, 74.87% total carbohydrates and 68.4% starch
Ideal for human consumption, dairy, beef and hog industry

Canadian Forage Sudan Hybrid – 30

CFSH-30

Characteristics:

Forage dry matter yield of 10 to 14 t/ha with crude protein of 14-15%
Flowering in 40 to 50 days, 2 to 3 cuttings during season and rapid re-growth
Very leafy with fine stems and 3-6 tillers per plant
Recommended for silage, green chop and pasture; (excellent recovery from grazing)
Frost sensitive with safe prussic acid level (10-20ppm) in temperate climate
Ideal for dairy, beef, sheep and goat nutrition
Ideal nutritional crop for under seeding with alfalfa for dairy cattle
Exceptionally palatable
Highly tolerant to alkaline and saline soils in UAE and China

Canadian Silage Sorghum Hybrid – 35

CHMSH-35

Characteristics

Recommended for one time harvesting to make silage or green chop for dairy and beef.
Forage dry matter yield of 12-16 t/ha and its stem has soluble sugars having brix percentage ranging from 12-14.
The leaf width ranges from 8-10.5 cm and leaf length ranges from 89-94 cm which is comparable to corn leaf. It has 12-14 leaves and takes 100-110 days to reach soft dough stage of grain maturity.
Frost sensitive with safe prussic acid level
This hybrid is exceptional in phenotypic traits and can be a future replacement of corn silage in temperate climate as it yields 15-20% higher biomass than corn silage.

Canadian Forage Pearl Millet – 101

CFPM-101

Characteristics

CFPM-101 Performs well on soils low in fertility and low pH up to 4.5
A highly drought tolerant crop
Recommended for Grazing, green chop, silage for dairy, beef, sheep, goat and horses
Forage dry matter yield of 7.5 to 15 t/ha with crude protein range from 15-19%
Rapid regeneration capacity
First cutting would be ready in about 45-50 days after planting, second and third cuts are ready after 25-30 days.
It has no prussic acid and other toxic components like nitrates
It helps in building soil organic matter when used as a cover crop
Significant levels of nutrients are added to soil improving fertility and soil structure
CFPM-101 achieves excellent control of root lesion nematodes (RLN) in potato, tobacco and other vegetables crops.

Canadian Sweet Sorghum Hybrid – 45

CSSH-45

Characteristics

Recommended for one time harvesting to make silage or green chop for dairy and beef.
Forage dry matter yield of 12-16 t/ha and 7000 liters of juice with 18-20 brix rate (%)
The leaf width ranges from 8-10.5 cm and leaf length ranges from 89-94 cm which is comparable to corn leaf. It has 12-14 leaves and takes 80-95 days to 50 % flowering.
This hybrid has very high potential for its juice for production of ethanol, biodiesel and alcoholic beverages such as Baijiu (Chinese white liquor), Whiskey, Vodka and sorghum beer without using barley malt.
Frost sensitive with safe prussic acid level
This hybrid is exceptional in phenotypic traits and can be grown in semi-arid tropics for the replacement of sugarcane as well as for silage production after juice extraction.

Canadian Sweet Stem Pearl Millet Hybrid – 7

CSSPMH-7

Characteristics

Recommended for one time harvest to make silage or extraction of sweet sap (similar to sweet sorghum)
Dry matter yield of 10- 12 tons/ha
Very leafy and takes 65 to 75 days in southwestern Ontario and Quebec for grain to reach dough stage.
With the Brix rate of 15-18%, sap contains 8-10% sucrose, 2-3% glucose and 2-3% fructose
This hybrid is higher in forage quality and better for dairy, beef and milking goats.

Canadian Grain Pearl Millet Hybrid – 90

CGPMH-90

Characteristics

CGPMH-90 is dwarf (100 cm) and yields 3 tons grain yield per hectare having moisture of 13%.
High protein (12-14%) including 4.5% Omega 3 unsaturated fatty acid. It replaces in feeding flax seed in poultry and swine to obtain Omega bi-product.
CGPMH-90 tillers profusely and all tillers have synchronous maturity.
No aflatoxin contamination
In rotation, provides control of root lesion nematode in potato, tobacco and other vegetables crops
This hybrid takes 100-105 days to mature and can be grown in the latitude of 43.8 ◦ N- 48.8 ◦ N in all over Canada
