Crops
In
addition to excellent forage yield and quality, Canadian Forage Pearl
Millet 101 was found to reduce root lesion nematodes in the soil when used
as a rotational crop for tobacco and potato. Three-year data at the AAFC
Delhi have concluded the growing Forage Pearl Millet, as a rotational crop
with tobacco is more effective, persistent and beneficial than growing rye
and fumigating.

Effects of
using Forage Pearl Millet-101 on root-lesion nematodes
per kg of
soil when used in rotation with tobacco as compared
to
rye and rye plus fumigation
Results from
Ontario data AAFC 1997 to1999
Results
show using Millet-101 in rotation with tobacco as compared to rye
and
no
fumigation can
reduce
nematode numbers by up to 70%.
Using
Millet-101 as compared to rye and fumigation
reduced
numbers by 23%.

Location: Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Quebec
- yields are arithmetic means of four replicate plots ( 12 by 4.5 meters )
Results
show that using Canadian Forage Millet-101 in rotation can
increase
yields by 3 to 27%. Potato yield
sizes of 8.25cm and up can
increase
anywhere from 19 to 40%.
